Brioche Knitting Workshop: Brioche Like a Pro!
Sat, May 6, 2017, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM BST
Learn to Brioche Knit like a Pro!
Want to have a go at this fab new knitting technique? It’s suddenly everywhere!
On the workshop, we'll make the two-colour scarf pictured above to help you get to grips with the ins and outs of brioche knitting. You'll learn how to knit a two-colour brioche knit fabric, including increase and decrease techniques, and a special two-colour cast-on, so you’re fully equipped to foray into the world of brioche knitting.
You’ll learn the principles behind how the fabric is constructed, learn to do your different stitches ('bark', 'burp', and slip 1 yarn over), recognise the different stitches in your work and in a pattern, and identify and fix mistakes.
This workshop is held in the lovely creative space at The Bowery in Headingley which is sure to inspire you. You'll get a tea or coffee to start the day off right and 10% off any food purchased on the day.
Workshop booking includes:
2 x 50g of DK yarn in contrasting colours (as pictured) - enough to complete the scarf
a printed version of the Staghorn Brioche pattern
a set of notes explaining the techniques

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Bowery café is on the main road through Headingley. Headingley is easily accessible via public transport, car and taxi.
For Train: Headingley train station is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the venue. Trains from Leeds to Headingley run roughly every half hour.
For Bus: The 1, 6, and 97 buses from Leeds City Centre make regular trips (every 10-15 minutes) out to Headingley. Get off at the Headingley Arndale bus stop.
For Taxi: A taxi from Leeds train station will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
For Car: Headingley is also easily accessible by car. Parking in Headingley can be a bit tricky. The Bowery has a few spots behind the shop and there is paid for car park on the opposite corner. Nearby Headingley Taps pub offers a paid for car park during the day (approx.. 5 minutes’ walk). There are often some parking spaces on nearby streets – please remember to check permit signs to make sure you’re in the right area.
The Bowery is accessed by a few stairs at the main door; the workshop room is up two short flights of stairs. Please keep this in mind when booking. If you have any questions about access - please contact me as below and I will do whatever I can to help.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
You can contact Gwen to discuss the workshop or any special requirements you may have by using the 'Contact Me' form on the website: www.petitchoufleurknits.co.uk.
