Bringing Sustainable Technologies to Market: A Case Study in Commercializing New Technologies to Address the Asian Waste Disposal Crisis
Asia currently possesses the world’s largest population and continues to grow at a rapid pace. Each year, 345 million tons of solid waste are generated in Asia. However, current waste disposal methods like incineration and landfill are not sustainable. Land scarcity, pollution constraints and public demands for better quality of life dictate the need for a better solution. Can Plasma Gasification Technology address the challenges posed by land scarcity and pollution, and deliver a solution that is small footprint, low toxic emissions, energy efficient, and economically viable? This talk will provide a critical review of the technology, and assess its market potential in the Asian market.
