Clay's psychedelic style has filled a handful of excellent publications and built an impressive client list including The NY Times, Netflix, Apartmento and Lucky Peach amongst others. He is also the owner of publishing house Tan & Loose Press and co-founder/editor of monthly paper The Smudge. A reaction to the current American political climate, The Smudge pulls from the underground press of the 1960s and 70s, featuring articles, comics and art pieces. To date proceeds from sales have raised a highly impressive $11.5k for causes that have been negatively affected by the Trump administration, highlighting Clay's humanitarian spirit and creative talent.

Atelier Bingo (FRA)

Atelier Bingo is the studio of Adele Favreau and Maxime Prou, two French artists who's work boasts a highly colourful and playful identity. With a focus on experimentation, their output moves between illustration, collage, screenprinting and painting, all ending up in an exciting meltingpot of creative expression. A clientlist that includes Vogue, Element Skateboards, Urban Outfitters, Pull & Bear and Wrap magazine amongst others shows the popularity of their work.

Sophy Hollington

Sophy Hollington is an illustrator and artist living in Brighton. Not being one to cut corners, most of her commercial work takes the form of relief prints, created using the lengthy process of lino-cutting. Her personal work tackles themes from meteoric folklore to mannerism, and she’s interested in wrangling the most out-there ideas to make them totally tangible. Her unique work can be seen on album covers, gig posters, editorials (see The NY Times, The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, It's Nice That and Esquire) and a huge number of interesting commissions such as the deck or tarrot cards recently designed for Rough Trade.

Maria Midttun

Since graduating from Bournemouth University in 2012, Norwegian born Maria Midttun has created a strong base of fans of her patterned, collage inspired illustrations. Through the use of cut-out paper, charcoal and paint Maria builds a lot of texture and pattern into seemingly simple looking work that has filled self published zines and artist books.

Ryan Gillett

Brighton based Ryan Gillett won us over with his bright and humorous style of drawing, making him an easy pick for this year's selected local guest! Over the years Ryan has lent his cheerful style to clients such as Nike, Virgin, Culture Trip, Folk, D&AD and The Sunday Times, producing work that always brings a smile to the face. Recently Ryan has been exploring animation and has just launched a capsule collection of prints and accessories for Brighton's own Tidy Print. And last but not least Ryan has of course created all of the artwork for this year's BIF!
