About Theatre 1308 and The Bright Side Festival

Theatre 1308 is Calgary's newest performance and art space! Located near the downtown core on Edmonton Trail, Theatre 1308 is intended to benefit our community by providing a venue that is:

  • fully accessible and welcoming
  • intimate with seating capacity for up to 100
  • well equipped with newly built stage plus professional lighting, sound and A/V systems
  • affordable
  • suitable for art exhibiting
  • has a reception area with bar and serving kitchen
  • has free parking

As a way of introducing the new venue to the Calgary community, The Bright Side Festival is being presented from February 23rd to March 2nd, 2019. This "decidedly optimistic" festival features eight days of music, improv, film, philosophy, poetry and stand-up comedy!
