Breige Murphy is a singer-songwriter who writes contemporary folk and sings Irish traditional songs. There's a story behind the songs that she shares with her audience and will usually introduce a good dose of humour too. Breige has been a member of the local "Ring of Gullion" Comhaltas in her home village of Forkhill, in Co. Armagh. (The 'Comhaltas " is the main association in Ireland that promotes Ireland's traditional song and music.)

Briege has released 5 albums of my her original songs and one of Irish traditional and American folk covers. She also has a track on a compilation produced iby the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., and the Northern Ireland Arts Council. She received the "keeper of the tradition" award for her contribution to the culture of her county and country from the late Tommy Makem, and also won "Best female Bard" at the Bard of Armagh, a humorous poetry competition.

She has also performed at many folk festivals such as Queen's at Belfast, Cork, Ballyshannon, Cambridge, Westport Arts, Clifden Arts, Oslo-Irish ,Manchester-Irish, Castlewellan and Downpatrick Arts, Cape Clear Storytelling, Fiddler's Green, Oslo- Irish, Shetland, Banbridge Arts, Iur Cinn Fleadh, Tommy Makem Festival, the Turning Wave (OZ), Yackandandah (OZ), The National Folk Festival of Australia, the Philadelphia Irish Festival, the Raleigh Irish Festival in North Carolina, and many more. She has also toured in New Zealand.
