As California continues to lead the nation in its efforts to expand access to health care — and make coverage more affordable — the California Future Health Workforce Commission will release its final report in February outlining a comprehensive plan for ensuring the state’s health system has enough qualified professionals to support and provide the health services Californians need.

The California Future Health Workforce Commission, co-chaired by University of California President Janet Napolitano and Dignity Health President and CEO Lloyd Dean, was formed in 2017 by senior leaders, experts and stakeholders from across California’s health care, education and workforce systems. The 24 commissioners have spent the last year crafting a set of recommendations aimed at improving the ability of California’s health workforce to meet the changing needs of the state’s diverse population.

This briefing will include an overview of the Commission’s top ten recommendations that emerged from three subcommittees: primary care and prevention, behavioral health, and healthy aging. Recommendations include opportunities to strengthen the supply, distribution, and diversity of workers in primary care, behavioral health, care for older adults, and other emerging areas of need.

A boxed lunch will be provided to all registered attendees!

Seating is limited - please register ASAP.

A live stream will be available for those who cannot attend in person.
