WHAT: Briefing on a new report from an independent committee of former military officers and defense experts: A New US Defense Strategy for a New Era: Military Superiority, Agility, and Efficiency

With the US fiscal crisis and changing international environment in mind, the Stimson Center brought together 15 former military officers, defense strategists and international affairs experts in an independent task force - the Defense Advisory Committee. The committee reached consensus on a new defense strategy addressing both pressing national security and fiscal issues in the years to come. The study was funded by a grant from the non-partisan Peter G. Peterson Foundation.
