Brief Interventions for Children/Young People's Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing in Schools Using Outcome Measures

Aims

To learn how using Outcome Measures can enable effective, brief interventions for supporting pupils' mental health & emotional wellbeing.   Understand what you are measuring, how and why.

Objectives

  • To explore the choices available to measure and monitor pupils' mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing e.g. SDQ/ORS/SWEMBS - what are they?!
  • Consider audit tools to ensure a cohesive whole-school approach to pupils' mental health
  • Learn how to complete and use measurement scores to apply to the 'problem' and agree with the young person/family what a good outcome will look like and how you will know if the work together is helping
  • Achieve change and find solutions with strategies and using pupil as the 'expert'

Useful Information:

Arrive shortly after 9 for a 09.30 start, aim to finish by 3:30pm.  Refreshments will be provided. Lunch is "bring your own", there are shops nearby.  Plenty of free parking on site but if the car park is full there a leisure centre a little further down the road that you can use.  If you get lost trying to find the venue please call Rugeley Community Ctr: 01889 579341

The venue is a short walk walk from the Rugeley town train station.
