We have been where you are and we would be honored to share the information we learned on our journeys to help make your experience smoother. Join our team and sponsors for conversations about topics that are pertinent to you and your communities in a relaxed, informal setting. 

'Bridging the Gap for Harvey Recovery' hosted by the Disaster Leadership Team (DLT), in sponsorship with OneStar Foundation, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, and the Texas Division of Emergency Management will bring together local Long-Term Recovery Teams from Harvey affected coutnies to talk openly about long-term recovery and address issues you are facing. 

DAY 1, Monday, June 11th:
DLT subject matter experts will share information and experience on specific topics which we feel are important for your recovery journey right now.

Topics include: 

  • Settling in for the Long Haul
  • Getting & Keeping Volunteers
  • Grant Writing & Fundraising
  • Transparency: Financial Controls and Policies
  • Repairs and Rebuilds
  • Emotional & Mental Health Strategies
  • Preventing Board Member & Committee Chair Burnout

DAY 2, Tuesday, June 12th:
To round out topics covered in day 1, we will address two very essential areas of long-term recovery:

  • The Importance of Data Collection
  • Unmet Needs Process & DCM

We will then open the floor with a panel discussion on “Tips & Lessons Learned” with all DLT members available to answer your specific situational questions and help you in your town's recovery.

Once you click the 'Register' button, you will be signed up for the event. There is no cost for attending the event, however, you will need to reserve and pay for your hotel room in advance to receive the pre-arranged discount of $169 (if staying overnight). We have reserved a limited number of rooms for this event and the discounted room rate will be available until May 24th, please register before then.
