Event description

Description

As part of LA Law Library’s Pro Bono Week celebration, learn why cultural competence is a key factor in enabling attorneys to be effective when dealing with clients from cultures other than their own. Legal aid and volunteer attorneys in particular frequently serve members of disadvantaged and marginalized communities, creating linguistic, socioeconomic, and other types of cultural barriers. How can attorneys bridge the gap with their clients? What best practices should be used? Listen to a distinguished panel of pro bono attorneys discuss what works and what doesn’t.

Earn 1.0 hour Elimination of Bias MCLE credit.
