A three-part collaborative touring and commissioning series produced by harpist Bridget Kibbey featuring music spanning the globe and centuries of musical tradition, from today’s Afro-Colombian folk grooves
to the elemental resonances of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier.

Last season Bridget commissioned João to write a new work for her trio Chalaca. The results were so successful that a new friendship was born, and here João and Bridget join forces on a new work for guitar and harp, exploring the rich samba and bossa nova traditions in Brazil. Join Bridget and João for an interactive conversation about their evolving collaboration and be the first to preview this exciting new work in process.

Because of the generous support of our followers, Metropolis Ensemble is thrilled to offer our new home at 1 Rivington as a space for new works of music to take shape at little to no cost to our artists. Select artists are given the opportunity not only to share finished works, but to use this space as ideas are crafted into tangible realties.
