Bridges Out of Poverty is a Internationally recognized model for helping communities, agencies and organizations understand Poverty and pull together to work towards solutions. The Talbot Family Network invites all segments of the community - businesses, non-profits, agencies, faith-based organizations, individuals, government - to come out and be part of the solution.

CEU's available. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

8:15 arrival. Seminar begins at 8:30am

The Workshop consists of two days of training:


Day 1 -
October 6, 2017- 8:15am- 3:30pm

Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities -

This workshop is a comprehensive approach to understanding the dynamics that cause and maintain poverty from the individual to the systemic level. Bridges Out of Poverty uses the lens of economic class and provides concrete tools and strategies for a community to prevent, reduce, and alleviate poverty.

Day 2 - October 13, 2017 - 8:15am-3:30pm

Applying Bridges Concepts -

(Prerequisite Day 1) This workshop is designed to take the constructs introduced in the Bridges Out Of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities workshop and begin embedding the constructs. Time will be given during the workshop to think about changes that can be made to break down barriers that are sustaining poverty within an agency, organization, and community. In order to attend only Day 2 you must have attended a Bridges Out of Poverty training in the past.


Continuing Education Units (CEUs) provided by Mid Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. Mid Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing education credits for licensed social workers in Maryland. Mid Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. maintains responsibility for these programs.
