Event description

Description

Based on the Bridges Out of Poverty constructs, the Bridges Individual Lens workshop focuses on the concrete experience of people in poverty. Its purpose is to provide new insights and practical tools that will help you and your organization build better relationships (and better outcomes) as you work alongside those you serve.

This workshop is a must for anyone (professional or volunteer) working with people from poverty. If you'd like a deeper understanding of people from poverty, their challenges— and strengths, then this is the workshop for you.

Topics include:

  • Hidden Rules of Economic Class

  • Language and Story

  • Mental Models

  • Theory of Change

  • Resources

  • Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin'-By-World workshop

"These workshops are known for changing the way people think about poverty and class. People have “aha” moments that deepen into insights that are so powerful that there is no returning to their old way of thinking. These insights in turn deepen into a paradigm shift that alters every aspect of their work with poverty.” Phil DeVol, co-author Bridges Out of Poverty
