A fun event to raise money in support of secondary school education in Guatemala!

About this Event

Join Global Education Ambassadors (GEA) for our second major fundraising event at DC-famous pub, The Saloon on U Street, in partnership with the Kamal Foundation!

The event will have two parts - an earlier, family-friendly part, and a late-night dance party!

From 3pm to 6pm, we will feature family friendly entertainment, including a kids’ corner, raffle, silent auction, themed entertainment, artwork, and lots of fun!

From 6pm to midnight, the lights will go out and the disco ball will come on! Patrons will be encouraged to dance for the cause to a live DJ. A portion of the proceeds from all drink sales will go towards GEA’s goal!

Entry is $10, with attendees being welcome to donate more at any time during the event or through GEA's website.

THE PROJECT: With the support of local leadership, GEA’s current objective is to assist the small, underserved community of El Camarón in Guatemala complete the construction of their local secondary school, where 105 students are currently studying.

FUNDRAISING GOAL: After our fundraiser this spring, we were able to lay the groundwork on this project and get construction rolling! Now, our goal is to raise $20,000 at this event to purchase all the materials needed to finish the construction of two additional classrooms and equip them with computers and supplies. This project will improve the quality of secondary education in El Camarón by ensuring students have a learning environment that is conducive to their needs.
