Where will the event take place?

This event will be held at the Strand Book Store, located at 828 Broadway on the 3rd floor. The line will begin outside of the store at 826 Broadway. There will be a stanchion with a sign indicating the start of the line.

When will the event take place?

Accepted Answer

This event will begin at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 1st. The line will begin forming at 6:30 PM. You must be in the line by 7:30 PM in order to participate in the event.

Question 3

What happens if I arrive after 7:30 PM?

Accepted Answer

If you arrive after the cut-off time of 7:30 PM, you may not be admitted to the event. Your signed book will be available for pick-up at our basement information desk from 5/2-5/12.

Question 4

Where is my ticket?

Accepted Answer

Your ticket will be available digitally through your order confirmation email. When you check-in, please provide either the last name of the ticket holder or present the QR code to a Strand employee.

Admission includes a signed copy of The Pivot Year.

Question 5

Can I join the line if I haven’t purchased a book through Eventbrite?

Accepted Answer

No. Only attendees who have purchased a copy of Brianna Wiest’s "The Pivot Year" from Strand’s Eventbrite page will be allowed to join the line.
 
If a customer pre-ordered a copy of "The Pivot Year" or purchased a copy on strandbooks.com, they will not be allowed to join the line.

Question 6

What if I get bored/hungry/etc. and leave the line?

You are welcome to leave the line and return before 7:30 PM. Please note you will lose your space in the line if you leave and return. Talk to a Strand employee before leaving the line.  
If you have checked-in, then choose to leave and not return, talk to an employee first.

Question 7

If I can’t make it, will my signed copy be held for pick up or can it be shipped to me?

Accepted Answer

Your signed copy will be available for pick up at the basement information desk at the Union Square location the following day. It will be held for 10 days. If you would like your book shipped, please email the Strand Events Team at events@strandbooks.com to arrange for shipping cost.

Please leave large bags at home. There isn’t anywhere to store them while you’re in line or while you’re meeting Brianna.
If you are unable to wait in the line for medical reasons or need any other accommodations, please email the Strand Events team at events@strandbooks.com

What is the Strand In-Person COVID-19 Policy?

Accepted Answer

Masks and vaccination checks are not required for entry.
Attendees are welcome to wear a mask if they choose. If you do not have a mask and would like one, The Strand will provide masks at the door.
