About the artists:

Brenda Carsey delivers an engaging, energetic show, seamlessly mixing a unique blend of Alternative Soul, R&B, Progressive Rock, and Trip Hop. Carsey has an unmistakable sound that is modern and unique while some how simultaneously a retro call to eras gone by. Carsey plays both piano and guitar. She performs both solo and as a full band under the name "Brenda Carsey & the Awe" that ranges from a 4 piece to a 9 piece depending on the show. As a band, the group is led by songstress and keyboardist Brenda Carsey and grooved out by the Awe-some rhythm section featuring a rotating line-up of phenomenal musicians. Carsey’s Voice is, in a word, uninhibited, mixing a syrupy sweet sound with a beautiful darkness and a vocal range with a potential of virtuosity. This Los Angeles, CA based artist has played at heavy hitting music festival Lightning in a Bottle (2017) opening for The California Honeydrops and Orgone, Feed LA Festival (2016) opening for Daniel Lanois and Lantz Lazwell, and Echo Park Rising Festival (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)! Carsey has toured the entire Western US from San Diego to Seattle, to Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and also Nashville and New York. She has grooved and swooned on the stages of The Teragram Ballroom (opening for Chris Ayer), The Bootleg Theater (opening for Karmic), The Moroccan Lounge (co-headlinging with Livingmore), The Satellite, The Hotel Cafe (headlined), Harvard & Stone (headlined), Good Times at Davey Wayne's, The Federal Bar, and more. She will stop you in your tracks with poetic lyrics, fluid melodies, engaging chords progressions, funky rhythms, and a voice filled with passion and soul. Carsey's first full-length studio album Solitary Refinement dropped July 16th 2017. The album features the Awe and was engineered and co-produced by Brian Frederick of Hybrid Studios and Stacks FX, who has worked with names like DJ Quik, Whiz Khalifa, Isabella Summers (the Machine of Florence + the Machine), and the Backstreet Boys on their 20th anniversary record. She will be releasing some new music in 2019 so keep your ears open!

Christie Huff is a country singer songwriter who brings a pop touch to her soulful sound. She’s an LA girl now, but she attributes her country background to growing up in Arizona. Trips to Nashville several times a year to cowrite with other country songwriters keep her ties to country strong. She recorded 2 CDs in Nashville, and is now working on a new EP in LA that’s being produced by several different producers, including Avi Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix. Starting out as a solo acoustic performer, Christie is well-known in LA and Orange County, and she now performs her original songs both acoustically and with her band at venues including Hotel Café and The Viper Room in LA. She recently opened for Chris Bandi at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Toby Keith at Coastal Country Jam in Huntington Beach, Bebe Rexha at Phoenix Pride and Ashley Monroe at The Hotel Cafe. In the summer of 2018, she spent a month touring, playing 17 shows on her way to open up for Jason Aldean at CountryFest in Wisconsin. In September, she opened up for yet another country superstar, Billy Currington, at the Boots In The Park Festival in Norco and Fresno. Christie released her first single from her upcoming EP in 2017. “The Way You Move” has been described as a “combination of the current pulse of Nashville with elements of hip hop, pop, and a sultry melody.” It was also a Top 10 finisher in Popstar Magazine’s Rising Stars Top 40. She released her Avi Kaplan-produced single, “Dream Catcher” last February. You can also find her on youTube, where she has several music videos including the award-winning “Soldier Song”, as well as an increasingly popular series called Christie’s Couch Sessions. Each week, she collaborates with another artist from the LA or Nashville scene on an original song, cover, or mashup. Christie is excited for 2019. She plans to release a new single every 2 months, and has already released her first single of 2019, “Urban Love”, which made the New Music Nashville Spotify Playlist. Look out for more music by Christie to be released this year!
