Event description

Description

“You are here.
You are human.
You are powerful.
You are worthy.

And you deserve love”

Inspired by the impact of systemic and internalised racism on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of Black Women and Women of Colour, “Breathe. Love here now,” is a self care workshop that calls Black Women and Women of Colour to be still, to breathe, to ground themselves and to tell themselves the truth. Through a series of journaling prompts, participants will reflect on how they are feeling and what they need in order to identify a sustainable self care ritual that they can use to meet their needs.

Lesley Asare is a British Ghanaian artist, maker and facilitator who makes solo and collaborative work. She is passionate about storytelling and wholeheartedly believes in the power of creative expression.

This workshop is for self identifying women of colour only.

This workshop is part of Black Blossoms' Touring Exhibition: If We Are Going To Heal Let it Be Glorious

The exhibition explore socio-political issues, feminism and self love from the perspective of black women artists, living in Britain in 2017.

A full list of accompanying workshops can be found here.
