Breastfeeding is one of the best gifts a mother and baby can give to each other, providing significant health benefits for mom, as well as the vitamins, nutrients and disease-fighting substances your baby needs for each stage of development. The American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes breastfeeding as the best method of feeding and nurturing infants. While breastfeeding is natural, it is also a learned skill for a new mother and baby. This two-hour class, taught by one of Sacred Heart Hospital’s lactation consultants, teaches techniques for breastfeeding success and addresses common concerns to make your experience as smooth as possible. Partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
We recommend taking this class during your third trimester (after 28 weeks). However, early registration is encouraged because classes do fill up!
Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Cost is $20 per couple. Only one registration is needed per couple.
