DATE: Friday, July 26, 2019

TIME: 9:30 am to noon

LOCATION: The donated campus of Sacramento Country Day School, 2636 Latham Dr., Sacramento, CA.

At Breakthrough Sacramento, we serve more than 200 under-resourced youth who aspire to be first in their families to attend college. We become their academic partner, year-round, for 6 years – middle school through high school – leading them on a path to higher education. Additionally, Breakthrough is a pre-professional training program for college students who are on track to become educators.

We serve students in four specific ways:

  • 6-week academic summer camp, before 7th– 9th grades
  • Weekly tutoring during the school year at students' public schools
  • Year-round field trips and learning opportunities
  • College prep and advising during high school, plus financial-aid seminars

And the program works:

  • 100% of Breakthrough’s students graduate from High School
  • 85%+ are accepted to 4-year colleges
  • 96% are first in their families to attend college
  • 90% of our Teaching Fellows report they are more likely to pursue a career in teaching after working at Breakthrough.
