Event description

Description

It all started in 1992 when education advocates noticed a gap in Cincinnati. There was a shortage of opportunities for underserved youth to access the high-quality educational experiences needed to prepare for success in high school and college. They brought the Summerbridge model to Cincinnati, now operating as Breakthrough Cincinnati, and 25 years later we give thanks for the vision and ingenuity it took to start something that has become a formative experience for so many Cincinnati youth.

One of these advocates was William Hopple, Jr., and his legacy has lived on through his family's continued involvement with Breakthrough Cincinnati. His son William (Bill) Hopple III served on the Board of Trustees for many years, and his grandchildren Bailey and Casey were Teaching Fellows in the program. The Hopple family's generosity in this community has dramatically benefitted Breakthrough Cincinnati and countless other organizations. Through this event, we celebrate them.
