Event description

Description

You've prepared your body for 26.2 miles, now prepare your mind.

"The wall".

Simply defined as that period in time during a marathon when things transition from being pretty hard to being really hard, it is the point where your mental and physical strength are tested simultaneously.

Complexly defined as the point in which your body's stored glycolgen is depleted and the feelings of fatigue and negativity accompany it.

Usually occurring around mile 20, as most training programs only train up to a 20 mile long run, many refer to it as the exact point where all your pre-race plans go out the window.

So, how do you complete the last leg of your race comfortably?

That’s where we come in.

This year’s Breaking Through The Wall seminar will take place on Sunday, September 23rd at 12:30 p.m. held at The Davis Theater in Lincoln Square. The seminar will feature a panel of elite runners and marathon experts who have received every question regarding marathon training imagineable.

This year’s panel includes Olympian Deena Kastor, and American Long Distance Runner, Stephanie Bruce. Topics include nutrition, proper hydration, race course tips, recovery preparation, mental strategy, and more.

Following the seminar, join us at our Fleet Feet Lincoln Square location for a meet & greet with the athletes.

A portion of the proceeds benefit Team to End Aids, our charity partner for the month of September.
