Event description

Description

Statistics tell us the following facts about breast cancer:

  • one in eight women die from breast cancer each year.
  • Caucasian women are diagnosed with breast cancer more often than African American women
  • African American women die from breast cancer at a higher rate than Caucasian women.

Some of the contributing factors to these outcomes are, lack of access to health care, late detection of the disease and secrecy regarding our health issues.

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Royal Missionary Baptist Church Foundation in partnership with Roper St. Francis present "Breaking the Silence: A Women's Health Summit."

This free event will include inspirational speakers, testimonials from breast cancer survivors, Music selections, food will be served, vendors and free clinical breast exams performed by physicians for women who are uninsured and underinsured.

Please join us bring a friend or a sister and help us break the silence regarding women's health .
