Event description

Description

The government of Canada is committed to establishing a strategy to eliminate plastic waste. This ambitious goal will require innovative approaches and collaboration with industry. According to the government of Canada’s website, less than 11% of plastic in the country is recycled. Worldwide, the equivalent of a garbage truck load of plastic enters our oceans every minute. Lessons from Canadian leadership on this issue can be adopted globally. During a recent public consultation process, the government received comments and letters from almost 14,000 Canadians about how to achieve the zero-plastic waste goal.

On November 14th, Sixth Estate will explore this challenge with the support of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada. Leading experts will share their vision for how to achieve a zero-plastic waste future for Canada. Join us live at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa or via our livestream on Facebook and add your voice to the discussion.
