Course Overview:

The Center for Pediatric Eating Disorders, Children's Health, Children's Medical Center Plano, is the only pediatric eating disorder treatment center in the nation that holds the prestigious disease-specific joint commission accreditation in the treatment of eating disorders.

The Center enthusiastically announces the 4th Annual Symposium focusing on the theme of "Breaking Stereotypes: Treating Complexities and Comorbidities in Eating Disorders.” The symposium features our keynote speaker, Chase Bannister, LCSW, CEDS, MDiv., who is a prominent figure in the architecture of mental health, nationally known for his commitment to clinical excellence in the treatment of eating disorders, gifts in constituency building, and passion for professional integrity & practice ethics. Symposium presentation topics include the intersection of eating disorders and non-suicidal self-injury, trauma, bullying, nutrition, LGBT, and the role of fathers.

We will be providing a continental breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages throughout the day. If you order a vegetarian or gluten free lunch, we will have your choice available. We’re having a networking lunch, so bring your business cards to exchange. You may also want to bring a sweater in case the room temperature fluctuates.

Parking will be on-site this year.

Children’s Health (Children's Medical Center) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association-Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
