Event description

Description

Learn how to develop Mixed Reality applications and what tools you'll need with Microsoft's Senior Technical Evangelist, Tobiah Zarlez. What is Mixed Reality? How can you get started today creating Mixed Reality games and applications in Unity? What kind of apps make sense and might work well? What common problems might you encounter?

In the first hour, Tobiah will answer these questions and more, covering the basics of the Mixed Reality development and the HoloLens and explain how the technology works. In the second hour, we will break out into an open lab where you can get expert guidance following along Mixed Reality tutorials, or get advice on your current Mixed Reality projects.

If you attending just the talk, no computer required. If you’d like to follow along with the open lab, make sure you bring a laptop (with a three button mouse) running Windows 10 with the latest version of Visual Studio and Unity installed.

About the instructor:

Tobiah is a Senior Technical Evangelist at Microsoft and an independent game developer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Before joining Microsoft, Tobiah ran a game studio full-time for over four years. Now he continues to develop games in his spare time, focusing on creating experimental games and interesting interactive experiences. As an Evangelist, Tobiah’s job is to help developers learn what they need to make their projects more successful.
