As a way to continue our efforts to grow in understanding and in bonds of friendship with the Muslim community, please join us to break bread with the Islamic Association in Raleigh.
We invite you for a tour, a lunch get-together with other Muslims in the community, and a Q&A with the Imam (religious leader) of the mosque Muhammed Abu Taleb on Saturday December 10, 2016, from 11am to 2:30pm.
After a tour of their campus in Raleigh, we’ll bread break together. During lunch, you’ll have the opportunity sit with Muslims from the community and be encouraged to freely ask questions. After lunch, we invite you to observe our mid-day prayer and then join us for a Q&A by the Imam (religious leader) of the mosque Mohamed Abu Taleb.
This call for understanding, mercy, and peacemaking is especially needed today in time of increased social anxiety, fear, and ignorance about Islam and even violence against our Muslim brothers and sisters in faith. After our community conversation about Islam and our Muslim neighbors in October, many have expressed interest in this opportunity for a visit to the mosque and continued dialogue. We believe that these experiences of dialogue and increased understanding help move us closer to the possibility of peace in our communities and world.
We hope you join us. RSVP now!
