NYC Theatrical Premiere, One Week Only!

BREAKING AND ENTERING is a fascinating and uncomfortably funny documentary about would-be Guinness Book of World Records holders and their pursuit for fame and fortune... which typically results in neither. An entertaining, humane and heartbreaking treasure unearthed from the festival circuit, director Benjamin Fingerhut's feature debut makes its New York theatrical premiere with a week-long run, January 14 - 20.

Some say that to embrace one's greatest talent is to make the world a better place. Others see a grown man from Queens spinning a 17-foot hula hoop and snicker about trivial obsessions. Breaking world records is a mysteriously seductive tradition, alternately inspiring, reckless and bizarre. Shot over five years, BREAKING AND ENTERING follows a grape catcher, a "joggler" and a former Marine who cycles nowhere as they battle the odds -- and their outspoken nemeses -- in their quest for global dominance. Since when is it trivial to dream?

Featuring dozens of record holders, from phone-book rippers and human cannonballs to whip-crackers and finger-snappers, the film offers their unique insight (as well as testimonies from their perplexed friends and family) into what it takes to break records, and more importantly: why?

88 minutes. In English. Presented in Blu-ray. Unrated.
