Jellaine Dee is the founder and CEO of a company that is fruitful by name and fruitful by nature; Cherry Blooms.
Named because of the way her creative ideas bloomed after working in her corporate job all day long, and in recognition of the way her personality was ‘blooming', Jellaine Dee founded Cherry Blooms aged just 24-years-old and rapidly made her footprint in the global market.
While her ‘beauty bag organiser' was her first product, it was her pioneering lash products which catapulted her products firmly into the international beauty market. Beginning on a small stall at a trade show in Sydney, she had a line no less than 15 people throughout the whole day and sold out at a conversion rate of one in two women. By the end of the day, she was taking back orders for a product she had created and with more ideas forming; she was well on her way to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
Beginning her corporate career in advertising, Jellaine quickly realised that she had all the skills at her disposal to execute her own brand and realised that she could use this as an avenue to create products which weren't yet on the market. Using herself as her target market, Cherry Blooms was born.
Starting as a new business owner organising severe cash flow issues to today becoming well on her way to creating a $100 million company; Jellaine has taken the market by storm and has the professional accolades to prove it.
In 2013, aged just 32-years-old she won the prestigious Telstra Young Women's Business Award. This was the beginning of her winning a string of professional awards including the 2014 Trailblazer Award for the Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur Awards and the Business Achiever award in 2015 at the women in business Gold Coast Awards.
In 2014, despite Cherry blooms now being sold in David Jones and globally across 50 states in the United States via US department chain, Nordstrom; Jellaine was honoured to gift the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton with her Brush on Fibre Lashes and meet Prince William as one of 12 Australian entrepreneurs chosen to meet them during their Australian tour.
Holding a Bachelor of International Business and Integrated Marketing Communication, and a Diploma of International Business; Jellaine has used a combination of formal education, life experience and her savvy business acumen which was piqued during her corporate career to became one of the most successful entrepreneurs of her time.
While Jellaine is on her way to reaching her goal of selling her company for $100 million; her priority to be the best mum to daughter Ava never wavers. She and the 3.5-year-old are best friends who love adventuring together and taking time out from the world to see new places. Jellaine keeps herself fit and active by rock climbing and Latin Dancing – both activities which are fun, energetic and lead to a sense of accomplishment.
