About our Guest Investor: Brian has served as the Chairman of the New York Angels for 10 years. Among his many angel investments, he was Pinterest’s first investor.

He is also Founding Partner of New York Venture Partners, a seed stage venture capital firm dedicated to the entrepreneur providing an ecosystem of financing, mentorship and strategic marketing consulting to the best entrepreneurs out there today.

And because he just doesn’t have enough to do, he is also Founder of Good Cause Communications Inc. (GCC), a New York-based not-for-profit corporation with the purpose of promoting global equality by supporting other nonprofits exempt under Section 501(c)(3) in communicating their societal impact more effectively.

GCC believes that the current state of communications - including marketing and public relations – in the nonprofit sector is abysmal, and many highly effective nonprofits never reach their full potential due, in large part, to the inability to communicate the good work they are doing for their community.

It promises to be a great conversation, what, eh?

With the belief that all new products, services and ideas should be easy to discover, find and share, Brian co-founded a next generation - self-publishing news platform called Launch.it in May 2012.

Brian is considered the father of science & technology strategic communications having founded Technology Solutions, Inc. (TSI) in 1983 supporting startup technology companies in computing, communication, software, education, and entertainment. For more than a decade he maintained a very broad strategic communications partnership with Sony & IBM. TSI received the Gold CIPRA award for creating the IBM Deep Blue/Gary Kasparov Chess Match communications program. In 1996, TSI was the #1 fastest growing agency in the US. The McCann Erickson World Group acquired TSI in 1997.

As a researcher, Cohen created Focus Technology, an organization providing qualitative research and instituted the RPM model of integrated communications.

As a publisher, Cohen was an early pioneer in helping found a number of the first computing publications including Computer Systems News and InformationWeek magazine.

Brian received a Masters in Science Communications From the Boston University’s College of Communications.

Brian is the author of “What Every Angel Investor Wants You To Know. In Insider Reveals How To Raise Money For Your Billion-dollar Idea.”
