Sustainability is known to increase efficiency and lower costs for business. But can it do more? The second session of the Energy Sustainability Series will focus on how leading companies are finding that a well-designed sustainability initiative creates a high level of engagement and enthusiasm among the audience.
This panel will examine how companies use sustainability in messages to a range of key audiences to improve their brand, increase sales, attract and motivate the best employees, and increase their market capitalization.
Panelists will include representatives from these key audiences:
Employees: Employees can be enthusiastic about their firm’s sustainability initiatives, but how do you make sure it is not just another slogan or rallying cry? What do leading companies do to demonstrate the importance of sustainability and engage employees in incorporating it into their day-to-day responsibilities?
Consumers: Successful companies are finding that communicating sustainability is more credible and more effective than “green marketing”. What’s the difference and what are the media, messaging, and creative strategies that resonate with consumers?
Suppliers: Since WalMart launched its sustainability questionnaire for its suppliers in 2009, more and more companies have incorporated these criteria in their procurement processes. What do these firms look for from their suppliers and what makes for a successful RFP response?
Investors: First priority for investors is the bottom line, but leading companies are showcasing their sustainability strategies as a way to future-proof the growth and profitability of their business.
