On Wednesday, 2/22 we are headed to the new AC Hotel in Downtown Minneapolis. They have a great lounge area with drinks and food avaiable. All this talk about hotels has got us thinking about the most memorable places that we have spent the night. This Break the Bubble we want to know of a memorable place that you have stayed.
So wait, this is a singles event right? Or a professional networking thing?
Nope. Break the Bubble is for making friends, pure and simple. You can leave the pick-up lines and elevator speeches at home. Refreshing, isn't it?
What's the format?
Put on a name tag
Indroduce yourself to someone new
I heard these events have themes. What’s up with that?
Yep. Our events have themes because most of us need a little help kickstarting conversations with people we don't know.
The theme this month is "Memorable Stays". On your name tag, we want to know of memorable place that you have stayed
Camping in the Boundry Waters
A themed hotel in Vegas or Florida
A lively hostel in a new city
The AC Hotel Minneapolis
Be original, be funny, be weird! The point is to give people an intro into conversation with you. And also to make us laugh.
But I'm an introvert who is most comfortable as a wallflower and has problems striking up interesting conversations with strangers. Is this event still for me?
Yes, definitely! Everybody's there to talk to people they don't know. Which means everybody feels a little awkward.
I met someone cool at a Break the Bubble event...now what?
When you're talking with someone you'd like to hang out with again, get their contact info and make a plan to do something! It's as easy as that. (Remember, everybody’s there to make friends so it really is okay to invite somebody to do something!)
Food and Drink
AC Hotels is located in Downtown Minneapolis on the edge of the Warehouse District. They have a full bar with food avaiable too.
We highly encourage biking, bussing, ubering/cabbing or carpooling. There is street parking . Download the Metro Transit app for real time transit info as well as other transit options close to you.
Capacity is limited and tickets sell out fast, which means your spot is highly coveted. For maximum fun-ness, we want as many people as possible to attend, so we ask that you only RSVP if you're actually going to show up.
Help us help you be awesome!
We need your help in spreading the word. Invite your friends, tweet about us, blog about us, post on Facebook, tell your mom about us, etc.
One last question: Where can I get more information about Break the Bubble?
