National experts in nonprofit management cite the relationship between the Board chair and the Executive Director as the single most important predictor of a well functioning nonprofit organization. During this session, we will discuss the role of the Board chair and other officers, how to effectively balance the leadership roles of Executive Director and Board, and when should the Executive Director sit in the driver’s seat and when should the Board. We’ll discuss how to build a working relationship that fires on all cylinders and achieves the best performance from everyone. Join us for a discussion on board/staff roles, best practices of effective boards, the board chair/executive director relationship, and how to grapple with the inherit challenges when serving in nonprofit leadership roles. Designed for current and prospective board chairs, individuals considering accepting a board chairmanship; executive directors and managers.
Feel free to bring your lunch.
