Event description

Description

Open to Simmons College students, faculty, staff, and alums. Limited seating available.

The Women's and Gender Studies Department (WGST) of Simmons College is proud to present Bread & Roses 2017, Activism as Leadership. This event aims to showcase the accomplishments of Simmons students in relation to the field of WGST and invites participants to think critically about intersectional approaches to feminist scholarship, activism, and work.

Our evening includes student presentations, keynote alumni presentation by Heather Concannon (WGST Major, Class of 2010), a zine library curated by Dawn Stahura from the Simmons Library, networking, and a dinner provided by the WGST Department (vegetarian options available).

Tickets are free, but we encourage you to secure yours ASAP. Seats will fill up fast as this is a night of food, fun, and critical feminist thought and action not to be missed!

We also encourage you to visit and follow the WGST department's Facebook page for other WGST events and news. For any questions/concerns about this event, please contact sarah.jenness@simmons.edu.
