Event description
Tuesday night classroom session with Saturday & Sunday AFTERNOON riding sessions

About this event

This course is the Basic RiderCourse (BRC1). There are four modules to this course. Module 1 is taking a 3-4-hour online course called the Basic eCourse. The link to the Basic eCourse will be in the confirmation email you will receive as soon as you register for this course. Module 2 is taking a one hour Supplemental eCourse which is on YouTube. The link to the Supplemental eCourse will be sent in an email a few days before Module 3. Module 3 is attending a 4-hour live online classroom session. Module 4 is attending 10 hours of practice riding conducted over the course of two days for 5 hours per day. More details about the BRC1 are on our website on the BRC1 page.

Time Schedule

Do Module 1, the Basic eCourse, as soon as you can, at home, at your own pace preferably 30 days before Module 3 - the live online classroom session.

Do Module 2, the Supplemental eCourse, as soon as you can also before Module 3.

Module 3, the live online classroom session, is Tuesday night on the date posted for this course from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm.

Module 4 , the 2-day practice riding sessions, are on Saturday from 12:30 pm-7:00 pm & continue on Sunday from 12:30 pm-7:00 pm on the dates posted for this course. The practice riding sessions are held at MSU's Lot 60 off Clove Rd.

If you qualify for one of the BRC1 discounts, show your current ID card when you arrive for the first practice riding session. We will then rebate the discount to your credit card.

FAQs

Is there a minimum age requirement to take the BRC1?

The minimum age to take the course is 17. If you are 17, a parent or guardian needs to arrive with you for the first practice riding session to sign the Waiver for Minors section on each of the two Indemnity Waivers.

What do I need for the Tuesday night live online classroom session (Module 3)?

Have a pen or pencil handy. We will also send you an email a few days before Module 3 that contains the link to the live online classroom session, the link to Module 2 and a link to download the handouts/forms needed for the classroom session. During the classroom session, we will tell you what you need to bring and wear for both practice riding sessions (Module 4).

More details about the course are on our website on the BRC1 page.

What is your Refund/Cancellation/Switching Classes policy?

Here's our Refund/Cancellation/Switching Classes policy which is posted on our website and which you will acknowledge that you read when registering for the course;

Refunds

We are the only motorcycle school in NJ that offers refunds for the following;

1. If you decide after the first day of the BRC1 practice riding exercises that riding a motorcycle is not for you, we will refund you $100. We do not want you to lose all your money if riding a motorcycle is not for you.

2. If you are counseled out of the BRC1* on the first day of the practice riding exercises, we will refund you $200.

3. If you are dismissed from a class for being late or for not having all the proper riding gear as outlined on each course web page, there is no refund and you will have to pay the full course price to attend another class. No exceptions.

4. If you drop out of a class that is already in session or do not show up for a class or a segment of the class for whatever reason, there is no refund and you will have to pay the full course price to attend another class. No exceptions.

5. If we have to cancel a class or a segment of the class, we will either refund all your money, put you in another class for free or offer a make-up class segment for free.

Cancellations

1. If you decide to cancel your class reservation at least 10 business days before the start of your scheduled class, we will refund all your money.

2. If you decide to cancel your class reservation less than 10 business days and more than 3 business days before the start of your scheduled class, a $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. No exceptions.

3. If you decide to cancel your class reservation 3 business days or less than 3 business days before the start of your scheduled class, there is no refund. No exceptions.

4. We reserve the right to cancel a class at any time due to adverse weather conditions, unforeseen circumstances or last minute events scheduled by MSU. Classes are conducted in the rain unless the rain is very heavy or there is lightning and/or thunder. If rain is in the forecast for the class you signed-up for, bring rain gear.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email to RidingAcademy1@aol.com.

Switching/Rescheduling Classes

1. If you want to switch/reschedule your class reservation to another class at least 10 business days before the start of your scheduled class, your are entitle to one free transfer. You must notify us by email at least 10 business days before the start of your scheduled class. We will switch you if a seat is available in another class. There is a $50 transfer fee for additional switches

2. If you want to switch/reschedule your class reservation to another class less than 10 business days and more than 3 business days before the start of your scheduled class, there is a $50 transfer fee. No exceptions. You must notify us by email more than 3 business days before the start of your scheduled class. We will switch you if a seat is available in another class.

3. No switching/rescheduling is allowed 3 business days or less than 3 business days before the start of your scheduled class. If you are not able to attend your scheduled class, you will forfeit all your money. No exceptions.

All switching/rescheduling requests must be made in writing via email to RidingAcademy1@aol.com.

Strict Policy

Our Refund/Cancellation/Switching Classes policies are very strict because we do not want to lose money on a class. Since we offer more benefits and features than all the other motorcycle schools in NJ, we run on a very small profit margin and cannot afford to lose money. If you miss a class, can't make a class or arrive too late to attend a class, we can't just put you in another class. If we do, we lose the ability to sell that seat and we lose $325 on that class (BRC1). Same concept applies with last minute refund requests - we lose the ability to sell that seat to someone else and we lose $325 (BRC1).

*Counseled Out of the BRC1

We reserve the right to counsel out (remove) a student from a class if they are struggling, not able to keep up with the pace of the class, didn't meet the objective of a riding exercise within the time frame allotted for the exercise or are a safety hazard to themselves or others in the class.
