Event description

Description

What does it mean to be a Christian in the midst of our changing world? How do we live prophetically in a time of political turbulence, social upheaval and climate change?

‘Brave New World? Faithful living in a time of change’, is an opportunity to discuss challenges, fears and hopes for the future of our communities, nations and world with keynote speakers Stella Creasy MP and Peter Oborne, columnist at the Daily Mail.

There will be a choice of ten workshops covering the following topics. In the New Year look out for an email from us asking which you'd like to attend:

  1. Living as Christians with political difference
  2. Building a welcoming environment for refugees
  3. A Conversation Welcome session
  4. Tomorrow’s Church of the poor
  5. The changing face of poverty
  6. Responding to hate crime
  7. Overcoming violence: how do we build a more peaceful world?
  8. Personal Christian responses to climate change
  9. Discipleship and social justice
  10. A conversation around intergenerational justice

A light lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be provided.

This is a FREE event. However, we estimate that the cost of lunch and refreshments for one person is £10. If you can contribute towards this, or even cover someone else's cost too, there will be an opportunity to donate on the day.

17 March 2018, 10am - 4pm

Manchester Central Hall, Manchester

Although we will not be organising accommodation for the event, there are many hotels, hostels and apartments nearby should you need to stay overnight. The Manchester Picadilly Travelodge is a ten minute walk away.
