About the Presenter

Nancy Lord Lewin is a Baltimore-based entrepreneur, writer, and advocate. She is the Founder and CEO at Asana Consulting, the communications and marketing company she began in 2014 to work with nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and social innovators. Nancy started her company with a vision of creating an empowering communications and marketing firm for organizations like the ones she worked in for 25 years. Over that time, Nancy built a track record for being a leader in the nonprofit, government, and for-profit sectors who leveraged strategy, collaboration, mindfulness, and innovation in her communications and policy roles to amplify impact. Nancy’s love for this work combined with her technical expertise and her life-long passion for entrepreneurial and social justice endeavors inform how we do everything at Asana Consulting, everyday.

The through-line of Nancy’s career and personal life is her dedication to doing work that improves the capacity for health and vibrancy for people and communities, particularly those challenged by inequities and discrimination. Nancy's work and passions are shaped by her work and training in public health, feminism, racial equity, and approaches to community health and social equity that integrate healing from trauma and spiritual practices.

Nancy received a Master in Public Health (MPH in social and behavioral sciences) from Boston University School of Public Health and an undergraduate degree (BA in Spanish and Women's Studies) from Middlebury College. Since 1999, she has lived and worked in her beloved hometown Baltimore. Before returning to Baltimore, Nancy lived, worked and studied in a number of communities in the U.S. (Boston, Austin TX, Vermont, and Maryland's Eastern Shore) and abroad (Mexico, Costa Rica, and Thailand). She has been honored as the recipient of the Open Society Institute-Baltimore Community Fellowship (2004-2006) and the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship - Boston (1997-1998). Nancy is also a certified yoga teacher for children, teens, and adults. Nancy's book Uplift Mindset: The New Approach to Nonprofit Communications is currently in the works.
