Event description
Join us for a new Spring Series: Branching Out: Reaching for Personal Growth!

About this Event

The year 2020 gave us the opportunity to slow down, reflect, go deep, and explore our roots. The year 2021 promises unique opportunities to reach out, expand, and grow as we adapt to our ever-changing world.

Please consider joining us to share changes you may have experienced and what you are reaching for now – intellectually, physically, spiritually, socially, artistically. Let’s grow and expand together!

Using the principles and practices of WWf(a)C Jax, this 6-week Branching Out series will help us explore ways to reach and grow towards what’s important to us —as well as look at obstacles that might be getting in the way. Using writing as a tool, Branching Out will give voice to women’s experiences openly and creatively in a safe and supportive environment with other women.

  • TIME: 6:30 – 8:30 pm (log in by 6:15)

This class is facilitated by Marilyn Jones. A retired therapist with a 40-year career in human services, Marilyn is a certified facilitator for Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville. A firm believer that each individual carries deep reservoirs of wisdom within, she combines this belief with the proven practices of Women Writing for (a) Change to help participants uncover hidden truths, share their stories, and explore how to make the most of whatever stage of life they are in.

MORE DETAILS

Women Writing for (a) Change® was founded in 1991 by Mary Pierce Brosmer, a practicing poet and former English teacher. She developed WWf(a)C to encourage women to find their voices, speak their truths, and tell their stories in a world in which they were often silenced. (womenwriting.org).

The Jacksonville-affiliated school was established in 2014 by Jennifer Wolfe, evolving into a non-profit in 2018, and adding three new faculty members in 2019-2020. Our intention is to expand our outreach and accessibility to a larger, more diverse audience.
