DESCRIPTION

Dreaming of starting a business or hoping to get more involved in the SF wellness community? This event is the perfect opportunity for you!

Event organizer and Brains Behind the Brands podcast host Katherine Weltzien will moderate a panel featuring Nicole Modic, Elaine Hayes, and Erica Liu Williams, all of whom are incredible entreprenuers and previous Brains Behind the Brands guests.

After the panel (which will include a Q&A) guests will have the opportunity to mingle and sample delicious treats from an array of innovative, wellness-oriented brands.

About the Panelists:

Nicole Modic (@kalejunkie) is a Certified Functional Nutrition Health Coach and wellness obsessed mama of two young boys, on a mission to share her passion for a healthy lifestyle with others. But she wasn’t always healthy - from an early age, Nicole had a love-hate relationship with her body, and measured her self-worth based on physical appearance alone. All of this led to a long battle with compulsive eating and bulimia, that lasted through her teenage years, law school, and even in her earlier career as a lawyer. She successfully overcame these obstacles with food, transitioned her career from law into the wellness space, where she is now a prominent social media influencer, marketing consultant, and health coach, all while juggling mom life and holding down the fort at home.

Elaine Hayes (@mntstudio) is a mom, wellness-lover, and the Founder & CEO of MNTSTUDIO, a wellness brand and Pilates & Barre studio in San Francisco. Recently named the Bay Area's top Pilates Studio by San Francisco Magazine, MNT is the go-to destination for effective, safe, and upbeat Pilates and Barre classes. Rooted in the classical principles of alignment and precision, MNT classes incorporate contemporary techniques to allow for a challenging yet approachable and enjoyable fitness experience. Centered on community and with a holistic approach to wellness, Elaine's mission through MNT is to empower each and every individual to transform their lives for the better through movement, self-care, and community.

Erica Liu Williams (@gr8nola) is a former Olympic Trials swimmer and Silicon Valley techie turned-food-entrepreneur. She came up with the idea for gr8nola by accident when she was searching for a delicious yet healthy snack during an annual post-Super Bowl "cleanse". Unable to find any good options in the market, she created her own granola recipe featuring clean ingredients like organic coconut oil and superfoods. Her granola was such a hit that she created a business out of it in 2013 selling at her local farmers market. Today gr8nola is supplied at many of the biggest Bay Area tech companies like Google, Twitter, Dropbox, Microsoft, Slack, Netflix and more. Gr8nola is also sold online on gr8nola.com and Amazon Prime. Flavors include: The Original, Golden Turmeric, Coco Cacao and Matcha Green Tea.
