BradFest 2012 will take place August 3-4 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Two Harbors, Minnesota. The outdoor festival will feature 15-20 performers from a wide variety of musical genres. In addition to music, attendees enjoy plentiful food and beverages, including a wide array of Minnesota craft beer. In keeping with Brad’s wacky sense of humor, the festival will also include a variety of antics, including a pie fight, laughing yoga, creative use of a mudpit, and more, cultivating a unique and fun atmosphere for all ages.
BradFest is an annual, weekend-long music and camping festival organized by the Friends of Brad Memorial Foundation. Celebrating the richness and diversity of music from Minnesota and beyond, the festival offers a unique platform for emerging and established artists alike to converge upon a single stage for a blowout weekend of music and fun in a beautiful corner of the state. Past headliners include Retribution Gospel Choir, Arcwelder, and Grant Hart of Husker Du. Musical robots, belly dancing, a pie fight, MN craft beer, Brazilian street samba, fire dancing, and other vibrant and varied activities make for a memorable, one-of-a-kind festival experience.
The Two Harbors Kayak Festival takes place the same weekend, offering kayak races and activities on Lake Superior for all ages and levels of ability. The concurrence of BradFest and the Kayakfest create a mecca for music and outdoor enthusiasts in Two Harbors the first weekend in August.
The Friends of Brad Memorial Foundation’s mission is to celebrate and cultivate young Minnesota musicians and honor the memory of Duluth percussionist Brad Rozman. BradFest is the Foundation’s primary outreach and fundraising activity. It provides a rich artistic experience by featuring a diverse array of high quality music with performers from the Arrowhead region of MN and beyond. BradFest plans began in 2009 with the idea to organize a benefit concert to honor Brad Rozman and give back to the musical communities of which he was a part. The inaugural BradFest took place in August 2010. A team of nearly 100 dedicated volunteers staff the stage, ticketing, information, merchandise, and other stations at the festival. For two successive years, the festival has been a successful event, building a growing following of devoted, enthusiastic attendees.
TICKETS
How do I get my tickets once I have purchased them online?
Once you purchase your tickets, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to print your eTickets from your computer.
I did not receive an email confirmation when I ordered my tickets, what should I do?
Check your spam or gray mail folder, in case it was misdirected. If you are unable to find it, email info@bradfest.org to have it resent. Please include the name and email address used to order the tickets.
I am not able to print my tickets, what should I do?
Adobe has a site which reviews the common issues with printing .pdf files
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/873/cpsid_87346.html
In the article you will see the quickest resolution is to print as an image - Step 1
If this article doesn't help to resolve the issue, please let us know. We can send you the .pdf as an email attachment rather than having you access the ticket from the link in the email. And of course, if that doesn't work, we can print the tickets and get them to you by another means. Please feel free to reach us at info@bradfest.org.
The tickets have my name but I want to give them as a gift, donate, etc., can they be used by someone else?
Yes, the tickets are transferrable. The name on the ticket does not need to be the ticket holder at the gate. If you would like to have the name on the ticket changed or removed, please contact info@bradfest.org, we can update the tickets on your behalf.
Do you offer scholarships or discount rates?
We want to make the music and fun at BradFest accessible to all. With this in mind, we’re offering special perks and entrance rates for generous folks who are willing to serve as volunteers the weekend of the festival. Please see the volunteer information below and contact volunteer@bradfest.org if you are interested in helping out.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Can I camp at Bradfest?
Yes, we encourage all attendees to camp at Bradfest for the weekend, to maximize the fun and music you experience and to reduce the need for driving at the end of each night’s festivities. The rustic camping area is located near the festival grounds and facilities. The sites are located a short walk from the parking lot.
You can purchase a ticket that includes a weekend-long camping pass above!
Each person camping at Bradfest must purchase a festival admission + camping ticket. That is, the camping fee is paid per person, not per party. Entry to the camping area will require a special wristband. RVs will require an extra ($15) fee, in addition to the camping fee, to cover the costs of the electric hookup (no water or sewage).
Camping Guidelines and Rules
- The Bradfest campgrounds will open at 5pm on Friday, August 3. All vehicles/campers must leave the site by 3 PM on Sunday August 5. The campground entrance will be open 24 hours a day.
- Every person entering the campgrounds must have a weekend ticket.
- The campsites are a short walk from the parking lot. You will be provided an area to camp. Please be respectful and use only the space you need.
- Primitive camping amenities will be available: potable water and portable toilets will be provided near the campgrounds. There is no electricity in the tent camping area.
- Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the festival site, including the campgrounds. Please arrange to house your dog in a nearby kennel if you cannot leave it at home. If you have a dog with you, we’re sorry but you will be turned away at the gate.
- Gas generators are not allowed in the campgrounds, though solar-powered generators are allowed. You may bring a small, portable gas grill/stove.
- Open campfires are not allowed at Bradfest.
- No fireworks are allowed in the campgrounds or on the festival grounds.
Can I bring my RV?
You betcha. There will be a separate area for RV parking and there is a $15 charge for an electrical hookup, in addition to the camping fee. The RV hookup only provides electricity -- water and sewage are not available. Please purchase an RV electrical hookup via this Eventbrite page (it’s at the bottom of the ticket list) and print and bring the ticket with you. You need to separately add your Bradfest ticket and your electrical hookup to your Eventbrite cart.
What facilities are available on-site?
There are a few indoor toilets and sinks and several port-a-potties available on-site. There are very limited shower facilities on site (one female shower and one male shower). There will be potable water available in several locations.
Trained security staff and medical personnel will be on-site to ensure a fun and safe festival weekend.
What kind of handicap facilities are available?
There will be a designated parking/camping area for people with special accessibility needs. You must have an official handicapped parking placard or plate for your vehicle if you need to use this area. Please make arrangements when you order your tickets. There will also be accessible restroom facilities.
There are no stairs or other barriers to entering the concert grounds. However, in the event of rain, the festival grounds may be muddy and/or uneven.
What if I don’t want to camp - are there other lodging accommodations available?
Remember, BradFest takes place during the summer on the north shore so it’s important to book your lodging early! We’ve compiled a list of some of the more affordable hotels & motels, as well as campgrounds close to the BradFest venue for you. We can’t vouch for or recommend any of them in particular, but hopefully this list will help you narrow down your search.
Please follow this link to see the list of nearby lodging options.

DIRECTIONS AND TRANSPORTATION
How can I get to Bradfest?
Bradfest 2012 will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds, located at 1381 Fairgrounds Road.
There may be construction-related delays in addition to the usual weekend bottlenecks for those headed up the North Shore via Duluth, so be sure to allow plenty of time for travel. We recommend those coming from the Iron Range take the “back way” (Hwy. 16 to Hwy. 2) to save time and hassle.

Where can I park?
We encourage carpooling to reduce the festival’s carbon footprint, but there will be ample on-site parking.
VOLUNTEERING
Can I volunteer to help out at Bradfest?
Yes! Bradfest would not be possible without the generous help of our volunteers. There are a variety of ways to get involved, everything from serving food and beverages to helping haul sound equipment.
This year we are asking all volunteers for a $40 refundable deposit as part of the volunteer sign-up. This is a common requirement for festival volunteering. It helps us ensure that the volunteer commitment is upheld, gives us an accurate head count for organizing purposes and helps protect festival organizers from liability. If you complete all the shifts you sign up for at BradFest, we will refund this deposit after the festival. If you fail to complete the work requirements or fail to follow the volunteer rules, you will forfeit your deposit (essentially you will just end up paying for a ticket plus the processing fee).
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
1. First, visit the submit your $40 deposit on this site. Click on the ‘Volunteer Deposit’ option and submit your deposit via credit or debit card. Also, please answer the questions about your t-shirt size and camping plans. The confirmation and receipt, along with instructions for how to sign up for shifts, will be sent to you from the following address: orders@eventbrite.com. Please make sure to check your spam mail for this email. Bring a copy of your confirmation email to the festival.
2. In the deposit confirmation email, you will be sent a link to access the volunteer schedule. Sign up for as many shifts as you are able. But please remember that if you do not show up for those shifts or if you don’t cancel your shifts by August 1, 2012, your deposit will not be refunded.
3. Once your deposit and shifts are confirmed, you will receive more specific information about your volunteer assignment and work schedule.
Please see our webpage for more detailed information: http://bradfest.org/getinvolved/
HEALTH AND SAFETY
For everyone’s safety, please respect and follow all rules and regulations. Security personnel at the festival are volunteering their time in order to ensure that this event is as safe and as fun as possible.
- In the case of an emergency, please contact the nearest staff member for help. There are trained medical personnel on-site who are fully equipped to deal with all situations.
- People bringing medicines to the event should declare them to security at the search and may have them stored in the medical center if required.
- The festival is outdoors. Please come prepared for any weather. This includes sunhats and sunscreen, sweaters, raincoats and sturdy shoes.
- Please drink alcohol responsibly and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Please designate a sober driver for transportation to and from the festival.
- While there will be 24 hour security on-site, BradFest cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. When you leave your tent, please take valuables with you and lock your tent.
Have Fun. Be Safe. Please be respectful of our neighbors in Two Harbors, and to our host, the Lake County Fairgrounds.
See you there!
