Event description

Description

While this is certainly not the first time the worlds of sports, politics, and PR have come to a controversial crossroad, it is the most memorable in recent times.

Join BPRS Chicago for a panel that will dissect and discuss the debate swirling around Colin Kaepernick, Donald Trump and the related media coverage. We've invited former professional athletes and industry experts to provide insights on where things went wrong and how some PR best practices could have altered the narrative and results.

Confirmed and invited speakers include:
---additional speakers to be added---

Exavier B. Pope I, ESQ. - Sports Agent, Lawyer, and Blogger. On-air legal analyst and media personality frequently speaking on topics related to business, law and the wider societal impact of sports mixed with music, style, and culture.

Brian Sleet - Principal at Kivvit, Former Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Chicago City Council Black Caucus.

April S. Williams-Luster - Founder and CEO of A Star Consulting Services. With over 10 years of experience in ethics and compliance.

Jerry Thomas - Founder and President of Jerry Thomas Public Relations. With more than three decades of experience in journalism, civil rights, and business, Jerry has provided expert strategy and counsel to business executives, politicians, entertainers, athletes and public figures.
