Event description

Description

Summer is here once again, and so is the annual BPA Summer Fest! Bring your family to relax, unwind, meet new people, and listen to some excellent live music. There will be free food and drinks, one of the largest and most diverse plant collections in the US, and 99% chance of sunshine.

The first Botanical Garden, planted in the 1870’s, was on the site currently occupied by Moffit Library. However, this wasn’t going to be a big enough venue for the BPA Summer Fest, so in 1920, they moved the garden to its current location and started planting trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. Within two years the collection numbered 600 species, in the following decade it grew to 1500, and currently stands at about 10,000; so it’s safe to say the garden is ready for our arrival! (Plants to be eaten will be clearly marked).

Don’t forget to RSVP so we know how much food and drinks we need. Since this is a private event occurring after the Botanical Gardens has closed to the general public, it is important to have a comprehensive guest list.

Come and celebrate with us:
