Event description

Description

A fantastic night of shibari (Japanese rope bondage) performances, tutorials and socializing created by Esinem, Nina Russ & MoSaru, in collaboration with the Flying Dutchman London.

Like Butoh dance, shibari is finally emerging from the underground clubs of Japan to establish itself as a new performance art and catching the imagination of fashion designers, photographers, artists and music video producers. If you haven't seen this type of performance before, prepare to be amazed as it is probably very far from your mental picture. Take a look at our YouTube videos.

For a fascinating glimpse into the world of Japanese bondage, I highly recommend 'The Pleasure of Rope' by acclaimed documentary maker, Bob Bentley.
