Join Inwood Art Works for a night of story, song and holiday cheer!

Enjoy a delightful evening of musical story telling, as Stephen Kennedy Murphy regales us about the life of one of Eugene O'Neill's most lovable losers, JIMMY TOMORROW - a humorous and poignant tale of reckoning and redemption.

Then tap your toes to the infectiously lyrical and rollicking sounds of Keve Wilson (oboist extraordinaire) and Richard Miller (guitar), as they take us on a tuneful ride from the remote and unexpected, to the familiar and time-honored.

---

“JIMMY TOMORROW is Stephen Kennedy Murphy’s musical adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s 1916 short story, TOMORROW, on which O'Neill later based THE ICEMAN COMETH.

JIMMY TOMORROW, which recently premiered at The Players Club on Gramercy Park, follows the title character’s efforts at reformation as he seeks to make a comeback from the lush life in which he has long marinated to the brilliant career as a journalist that has always been his pipe dream. Stephen will perform the text, which was taken directly from the O’Neill story and ragtime-style songs he has written to shed comic light on one of O’Neill’s most lovable losers, the usually pickled Scotsman, Jimmy Anderson.

"A director of opera and theater with a powerful voice” (NY Times), Stephen Kennedy Murphy has directed and performed in venues on Broadway, Off-Broadway, at Lincoln Center and at Yale University, where he was a resident artistic director for ten years. He studied acting with Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse and directing with Frank Corsaro at Juilliard. He moonlights as a singer-pianist and is now in his tenth year as house musician at Inwood's Indian Road Café, where he can also be found each New Year's Eve leading singalongs and the countdown into the New Year."

Keve Wilson and Richard Miller maintain busy schedules in NYC, individually from Broadway to the White House. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to an American father and Brazilian mother, Richard has maintained a busy performance schedule with concerts that explore his Brazilian choro roots, American Jazz roots, and his classical guitar training. Recent credits include a special performance for Pope Francis, a White House performance for President Obama, and as music director for the Kennedy Center’s production of Olivério, A Brazilian. A long-time practitioner of yoga and surfing, Richard created the Balanced Guitar retreat to enable students to learn a holistic lifestyle that will ensure many years of healthy and creative guitar playing. The guitar/yoga/surfing retreat takes place yearly in January.

Hailed by the New York Times for her “magnificently sweet tone,” Keve would skip music theory and history as a kid to practice Irish jigs and reels instead. Recently oboist with the Broadway revival Carousel, Keve inspires high school band and orchestra students from around the country with her original show Believe NYC---from the Band Room to Broadway. A winner of Concert Artists Guild and solo oboist with the Grammy nominated Absolute Ensemble, she has performed in Amsterdam, Argentina, Austria, Dubai, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Mexico, Panama, New Zealand, and South Korea. A two-time recipient of the Clifford-Levy Creativity Grant, Keve traveled to Makuleke Village in South Africa where she participated in learning and teaching folk songs of the region

Keve and Richard together explore music from around the world with their unique and feisty program for oboe and guitar.
