Event description

Description

Are you confused by all the green out there?

Are you overwhelmed by how to get started understanding and identifying the many plants that surround us? You’re right to feel this way: there’s only one species of humans - Homo sapiens - but about 250,000 “flowering” plant species. In this new class with NHG's Dana Wilson, we’ll start with a big-picture look at the plant kingdom, then focus in on plant structures and functions, organization and classification of plants, and techniques to help with plant identification.

Being able to identify plants and put the proper name to them is the first step in being able to grow them better. Name what you have and what you'd like to know more about in this new, free class!

Dana Wilson is a native Dallasite, and she attended Lake Highlands High School, TCU, and UNT. She is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program and the Dallas chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas. She joined North Haven Gardens as a Garden Advisor in 2016, and is now Events Coordinator, scheduling all of NHG's custom, private events.
