Event description

Description

Spend two hours touring the heart of Boston with a local artist and art lover, taking in some of the city's remarkable public art. This tour starts in the shadow of the golden dome of the State House and ends near Copley Square, taking in a series of sculptures and memorials (some famous, some less-so) that dot the Boston Common, Public Garden and Commonwealth Avenue Mall.

This tour focuses on pieces of both artistic and historical interest. Some, like the Robert Gould Shaw memorial where the tour meets (sculped by Augustus Saint-Gaudens), are a little bit of both.

Also, Alexander Hamilton is cool, right?

This is a walking tour, consisting of a two mile walk. We meet across from the State House (golden dome, you can't miss it) near Copley Square. This is a one way tour.

No transportation will be provided back to the start. Copley is a transportation hub. No planes, but plenty of trains and automobiles to get you where you need to go.

The tour runs in (almost) all weather. Heavy rain or a freak snowstorm will cancel with a full refund.
