For many school-aged children in the metro-Boston area, fencing is financially inaccessible. The typical annual cost of a beginner’s year of fencing is $1,000 prior to any equipment costs. In a city where at least ¾ of the public school population qualify for free or reduced price lunch, fencing can be an expensive hobby. Our aim is to remove this barrier to participation by establishing a fencing program free of cost.
On December 9th we are holding a Silent Auction/Fundraising Gala to benefit this initiative and are looking for your support. Purchase tickets at www.bostonfencingclub.org/fundraising for a fun holiday dinner with music, awards, special appearances, and a silent auction!
