Boston Cybersecurity Connector

Important Note: Advanced registration is required to access this event venue. When you arrive, please check in with building security.

Join fellow cybersecurity professionals for pizza, drinks (beer & wine), and networking. We've lined up two fantastic talks for the October meetup and would love to have you join us!

Agenda:

6:00pm
Introduction to TOOOL: Learn to Lockpick!

The mission of the Open Organisation Of Lockpickers is to advance the general public knowledge about locks and lockpicking. By examining locks, safes, and other such hardware and by publicly discussing our findings we hope to strip away the mystery with which so many of these products are imbued. The Boston chapter meets once a month at the Artisan's Asylum. More information can be found here: http://bos.toool.us and http://toool.us

6:15pm
Network Security Through Visibility
by Joshua Chessman

Joshua Chessman has been working in technology for over 25 years, although he's been immersed in technology since he figured out how to connect a tape recorder to a Timex Sinclair. Just as comfortable digging into the heart of a Linux server as he is adjusting the flapper in a toilet that won't stop running, Josh has the deep technical experience gained from working across many different technologies. He has been lucky enough to work in organizations ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 multi-national corporations to rural public educational institutions. This wide range of experience gives Josh a unique perspective on the technological challenges facing companies today.

6:50pm
Fantastic Cyber Professionals and Where to Find Them
by Joshua Harr

Joshua Harr is passionate about evangelizing the need for out-of-the-box cybersecurity professionals and bridging the gap between industries by assisting others with resources to help them “make the jump” into cybersecurity. After 6 years as an enlisted member of the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief on C-130’s, Joshua separated from the Active Duty Air Force to earn his Master of Science in Security and Resilience Studies with a concentration in Cyber Security, Cyber Policy and Counterterrorism from Northeastern University. Today, Joshua spends his time as a Cyber Security Analyst/IT Compliance/Threat Hunter at Boston Children’s Hospital and is commissioned as a Cyber Warfare Officer in the Air Force Reserves.

7:30pm
Vendor sponsored games, challenges, and networking.
