Weatherize now! Will you be one of the 500 Bostonians to sign up to save energy, money, and the planet on June 1st?
The Boston 500: Challenge to Save Energy is a citywide Day of Action on June 1st! We aim to ensure that ALL BOSTONIANS have access to energy efficiency services that will help save energy, money, and the planet! Boston landlords, renters, property owners, and members of small condo associations are encouraged to join in the fun!

to attend an event in your area! RSVP in the "ticket information" box above, and you'll be prompted to choose one of many great events to attend (listed below).
At each event, you'll find people just like yourself whose homes or communities have benefited from a no-cost home energy assessment through Mayor Menino's Renew Boston program. You'll also have the opportunity to sign up for a no-cost home energy assessment in order to take steps toward weatherizing your own home.
If 500 Boston households to sign up to take steps towards weatherizing their homes, the impact will be incredible:
- We'll prevent 224 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions
- We'll collectively save $50,000
- We'll prevent noxious emissions that cause asthma
- We'll create green jobs

June 1 10am-12pm Join Dorchester resident Christine Sullivan outside her home to meet your neighbors, enjoy the sunshine, and learn how to lower your energy bills. Verdun St, Dorchester/Adams Village June 1 9:30 – 11:30am Dorchester resident Kate King invites you into her home to learn firsthand about the Total Climate Control heating and cooling system and no-cost home energy assessments. 24 Mather St #1, Dorchester June 8 R9am – 1pm Join Mattapan Moving for Life at the Boston Nature Center, a solidarity event being held June 8. Boston Nature Center, 500 Walk Hill, Mattapan June 1 9am – 1:30pm The Boston Building Resources table at the Roslindale Farmers Market will be promoting Boston 500. Stop by and ask us about energy efficiency! Washington St, Roslindale June 1 10am – 12pm Learn about Laura Sylvan’s weatherization work and installation of a highly efficient air source heat pump for heating and cooling. Enjoy refreshments and good conversation between neighbors – with a big announcement about a new City incentive program! Home of Laura Sylvan, 73 Brookley Rd #1, Jamaica Plain June 1 12-2pm Boston Climate Action Network members will be tabling for Boston 500 by the baseball games at Daisy Field. Byner St & Jamaicaway, Jamaica Plain June 1 12-3pm Beat the heat on June 1! Stop by and learn about opportunities to save energy and money by having your house or rental unit audited. Southern Ave & Millet St, Codman Sq Dorchester June 1 10am-2pm Boston Climate Action Network will be tabling for Boston 500 at the first Egleston Sq Farmers Market of the spring. Buy local veggies, chat with your neighbors, and learn how to get more involved in the energy efficiency movement. Egleston Sq, Jamaica Plain June 1 1-3pm Learn about Delores’ experience with energy efficiency and installation of solar PV on her roof. Enjoy refreshments and good conversation between neighbors outside her home. 185 Lamartine St, Jamaica Plain June 1 10am-2pm Get a haircut and learn about Renew Boston. 1557A Blue Hill Ave, Mattapan June 1 2-4pm Join Eleftherios Tziallas at his home to learn about Renew Boston energy efficiency and his installation of solar PV on his roof. Ele 121 Durnell Ave, Roslindale June 1 10:30 am-1pm Drop-in for a Window Rehab Demonstration by a professional window restoration contractor who will demonstrate how older windows can be made energy-efficient without replacing them. You can also sign up for the no-cost home energy assessment to assess your whole home’s energy usage. 100 Terrace St, Roxbury Crossing June 1 10am – 2pm Renew Boston will be at Community Rowing Inc.’s Family Rowing Day. Join us for free rowing lessons, food, childrens activites and the oppurtunity to sign up for no-cost home energy assessment! 20 Nonantum Rd, Brighton June 1 1-5pm As dedicated energy dorks, we can answer questions you have about the Renew Boston program and green energy.
