to celebrate our 2 years on earth we'll be
bringing a night celebrating BLACK LOVE
thru poetry, a panel discussion, shuckin & jivin'
see it as an early gift for black history month
as usual our line-up is quite flames
a british nigerian poet, writer & educator from Brixton. she believes in magic & that all things are woven together by the same glittery thread. she paints worlds with words & particularly explores themes of race & gender. she's one half of the art collective i shape beauty, a visual & poetry art collective that creates art installations & facilitates workshops for women of colour.
zia is from nw ldn. he's currently a london laureate, having been shortlisted to be the young poet laureate for london 2015/16. he's a former roundhouse poetry slam champion. follow his drafts here: @ziasighs
a dynamic duo made up of saxophonist & 1/4 of united vibrations, wayne francis & poet, nadeem din-gabisi. they use the sax & the voice to take you on journeys of ancestral memory.
this section of the night will be chaired by a member of the B::F extended family, social anthropologist, nana adae-amoakoh.
