Discover the best practices for enhancing your advising practice and developing a Fulbright culture on campus!

About this Event

This two-part training will provide information on all aspects of the Boren Awards for International Study and the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Each session is designed to provide resources and best practices for enhancing your advising practice and developing a study abroad culture on campus. Topics covered include: Roles and Responsibilities (Outreach, Advising, Campus Interview Coordination, Managing the Application System, Publicity etc.), Resources for Student and Advisers, Types of Awards, Eligibility, Grant Benefits, Statistics, and Application Components and Timeline. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with peers to discuss successes and challenges they have encountered in the promotion of the programs and advising of applicants.

*This training is for faculty and staff at U.S. institutions who work to support and advise student through the award application process. It is not a session for applicants themselves*

The training will begin at 9 AM on Wednesday, March 18 at Tulane University's Richardson Memorial Hall Room 201, Thomson Hall. (Note: Richardson Memorial Hall, not Richardson Building). A campus map, information regarding visitor parking, and information about hotels can be found on the Tulane University's website.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program presentation will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm; the Boren Awards (Scholarships & Fellowship) presentation will run from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Lunch will be served from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Please indicate which session(s) you will be attending.
